Counselling can be a powerful tool in your wellness journey. It provides a space to talk about your feelings and experiences. A trained counsellor can help you understand your emotions and develop coping strategies.

What to Expect in Counselling
When you first visit Citrus Counselling, you may feel nervous. This is completely normal. Here is what you can expect:
Research: There are many different types of counselling and it can be daunting to understand which one is best suited for you. First spend some time figuring out what you want from counselling. Assess your readiness and the practically, What are your reasons and goals?
Get in touch: The rooms at Citrus are rented out by a variety of qualified counsellors, each with their own experiences, approach and expertise. If you are unsure who you want your counsellor to be email us on citruscounselling@gmail.com with a little information about yourself.
Free Consultation: We will then book in a free consultation. This can be held over the phone or face to face and the conversation typically lasts between up to an hour. We will explain what we offer, our policies and contracting. Your counsellor will ask questions about your background and what brings you to counselling. This helps us understand your needs and goals are, in addition provide time to answer any questions that you might have.
The first session: You now have the option to book in your first session. Typically the minimum for a one-to-one counselling session costs £50 per hour. You can either pay as you attend, or be invoice you at the end of the month. However this may vary depending on the counsellor.
Number of sessions: The duration of sessions depends on the individual's goals, the nature and severity of their concerns, and the therapeutic approach. Short term therapy are typically between 6-12 sessions, Where as many find that 15-20 sessions are needed to instigate a lasting change in mood.
Counselling is a collaborative process. You and your counsellor will work together to find solutions that work for you. Your counsellor will provide support and guidance as you work towards your goals, each session focusing on what is impacting your current concerns
